Ephrata Saints #2 Tim - The end is near...
I am still very surprised of how quickly I am picking this up. It has to do with all of the years I spent only drawing. Behind every stroke of paint and brush are hours upon hours of drawing practice.

Ephrata Saints #2 Tim
It is remarkable how the process of painting happens right before the eyes. Twenty years of only drawing is making this transition very smooth and enjoyable.

Learning to paint
I have started to teach myself to paint... of course I have picked up a little of this and a little of that along the way, 1,000 of hours of drawing, some inspiration from Ken Laager and reading a few Andrew Loomis books.

Ephrata Saint Painting...
I started painting a portrait today. It took a lot of courage to take this next step in my journey as an artist. Drawing has been my mainstay for over 20 years. There has been flashes of painting over those years, but never in traditional oil. So here is the process.
I had one of the models from a life drawing class pose and took a picture using my iphone. |
